If you were a different person, looking at your life from the outside, what would be the obvious right action to take?
The answer to that question provides clarity.
I once was debating about an action that I needed to take. I discussed the problem with my mentor, who then said this:
You and I know whether or not we should buy something or put the money into savings. You and I know whether we need to apologize to somebody. You and I know whether or not we should be going out or going to bed.
You are not actually confused. You just don’t want to do the thing you need to do, and so you choose confusion to avoid responsibility.
Yikes. That was hard to hear.
But it was true.
You and I already know what to do. We know how much sleep we should be getting. We know what foods to be eating. We know that we need to get to the gym every day.
The difference between the individual who is happy with their fitness is action. They don’t choose to be confused. They just do it.
So ask yourself: If I were a different person, looking at my life from the outside, what would be the obvious right action to take?
Then do it.
